Rectifier transformers are used for industrial processes which requires significant high current like electrochemical processes like chlorine production, Electrolysis processes for the production of aluminum where harmonic current are generated. Rectifier Transformers are also used to supply power where there are high current requirements as in Electroplating systems.
The secondary of these Transformers are generally low voltage with high current and are with high harmonics withstanding capacity.
